A quick, healthy side dish
Skillet Green Beans
Equipment
- 1 large skillet or pan with cover
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium high. Add the green beans and red pepper flakes, tossing in the pan until coated with the oil.
- Cover the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Cook, stirring frequently until beans are blistered and tender crisp, about 7 minutes.
- Remove pan from heat and remove the lid. Add the garlic, lemon zest and lemon juice, tossing to coat. Season to taste with salt and pepper, then serve immediately.
