Skillet Green Beans

A simple skillet green bean recipe with lemon and garlic

  • 1 large skillet or pan with cover

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium high. Add the green beans and red pepper flakes, tossing in the pan until coated with the oil.
  • Cover the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Cook, stirring frequently until beans are blistered and tender crisp, about 7 minutes.
  • Remove pan from heat and remove the lid. Add the garlic, lemon zest and lemon juice, tossing to coat. Season to taste with salt and pepper, then serve immediately.
